What are the chemical hazards involved in flooding?

Floodwater brings lots of associated hazard with it. The disruption of sewage disposal of toxic waste sites, overflowing of toxic waste can lead to the outbreaks of infectious diseases/chemical poisoning. Gasoline and diesel spill out of vehicles, fuel supplies and other sources to the flood water increases the health risk and can pose health hazard to the public and the environment. Protective measure has to be adopted during flooding and clean up after the chemical exposure to the flood water.
